Best Friends Animal Rescue is a nonprofit animal rescue serving communities across Alaska. Founded in 2020, we focus on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs and cats in need, with everything we do grounded in compassion and a deep commitment to the animals we serve.

We are a network of volunteers, fosters, and supporters working together to give animals a brighter future—from transport and medical care to opening our homes—all with the shared goal of helping animals find families who will love them for a lifetime.

Our Mission

We rescue and rehome vulnerable animals while promoting responsible pet ownership across Alaska.

We focus on stray, injured, and unwanted animals, especially in rural communities where veterinary care may be limited. Every dog and cat is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and medically cleared before adoption so they can begin their new life healthy.
